Algonquin West ATV club cordially invites you to our Spring Poker run at the Edgewater Lodge Resort on Sand Lake in Kearney on April 26, 2014! Last year was our biggest by far, as was the year before that, so we recommend signing up early as there is a significant possibility that we may have to cap this event! To sign up visit us at http://www.algonquinwestatv.com. We do look forward to seeing our regulars, as well as plenty of new faces for us to meet! See you there!

Online registration has now begun for this event! HATVA and AWATV members get $10 off early registration, and also save an extra $10 as well by registering before April 1! Everybody pays full price after April 1, and there is a significant possibility we may have to cap the event, so avoid the hassle and register early to guarantee your spot!

Sorry for the slow reply, I was traveling where it's warm.. Yes, SxS's are welcome! There will be plenty of them there, likely 50-60+. There will be some stretches of road to contend with, but in the last 4 years there haven't been any problems...

Good to hear you are coming again Dave! Last year on that one trail I swear the groomer went by less than a week before.. still nice and flat..good thing it was warm that day, here's hoping for that part again! I did a small write up about last year as a prelude to this year's event for a website I hadn't noticed much beforehand, but I think it's quite cool! The top pic is of that trail, check it out here http://www.northernontario.travel/atving/algonquin-west-atv-club-spring-rally-2014 Flag me down and let me snap a pic or two if you get a chance! Another article goes in there after this year's event.

Yes, we do, it looks like it will be the weekend before, likely both days, usually a lot of brush and down tree clearing. We would certainly appreciate the help, too! We generally include a free on trail BBQ lunch. Perhaps you can send me your email address so I can send you the details as they become certain. My email address is kco4242@hotmail.com

Thanks for offering!

Adam

Last year there was the rapid thaw, lots of flooding at the time of the ride. No flooding there. There was still lots of snow in the bush. More than 2/3 of the ride was on groomed sled trails that had gotten soft. I am pretty sure if they send a couple of tracked atvs through the deep bush trails first, it would be tough but manageable. Probably more snow this year and with the late thaw, it would be interesting.

If this is still on and if there is room left, I'd like to book a spot. Couple questions though. I am new to Ontario and wondering do I have to be a member of some atv club or have a trail pass to do the poker run? Or does my fee cover that cost for the day? Also what is the extra charge to bring a passenger in the sxs?

Yes, it's still on, passengers are the same cost as drivers, they also get poker cards, door prizes, two meals, etc. Right now we plan to cut off the registration at 50 more than we have now, and they are booking up fast. If you want in I recommend registering in the next two days or so at http://algonquinwestatv.com Yes, a day pass is included in the registration, nothing to worry about there, however you will need proof of insurance.

See you there!

Adam

Signed up and can't wait to get out. Haven't been on the machine in quite a while on an actual ride. Taking the kids around the property is the only use it has seen for the last year and a half.

Off to Cuba tomorrow and back just in time for the poker run. Looking forward to meeting some like minded people and enjoying a big fat Cohiba with my passenger.

can SXS's go on this? I didn't think it was SXS approved. Sluggish, I notice your sig says you have a RZR.

FYI- For those of you that have been wondering about the rally, it's definitely ON. After being out there the last two days (yes, we do still have certain trails with 3 ft. deep snow impassable for a non tracked ATV) we have established a new route and it should be a great day! About 25 spots left before we cut off the registration, sign up quick if you want in! http://algonquinwestatv.com

We are now sold out for our Spring 2014 Poker Run. Thank you to all that registered. To those that still want in feel free to email customerservice@algonquinwestatv.com regarding possible cancellations if you wish, but please keep in mind this is a pre-paid event, so cancellations are fairly rare. To those that are registered, see you there!

Cheers!

Adam

well I stand corrected. That's awesome. We have stayed away because we heard it was difficult with the road running for the sxs. Maybe we will try the fall rally. thanks for the info.

We had a great time on the run. First one I have ever been to that was this big. Well organized and whenever we pulled in somewhere(lunch, checkstops, dinner) everything was ready and waiting for us. Well done. We will be back next year for sure. I also hear there is a fall one, I'll be looking for details about that. Thanks again for the great event.
